Updates on the Budget Process

The FAQs for July 24 Memo is a document that provides some clarification to the July 24 memorandum, which imposed spending restrictions on state agencies for 2009-10. We are anticipating that the restrictions will be lifted as soon as a state budget has been approved.

Expenditures for items that are marked “Allowable” or that are marked “by OSBM Exception Only” on the Excel workbook (note there are three different spreadsheets) and sent to the appropriate person in your division. These spreadsheets should arrive in the Budget Office (sent to Ron_Smith@uncg.edu and copy Steve_Honeycutt@uncg.edu) no later than noon on Friday. These will be submitted to OSBM each Monday. OSBM is requiring one week for review. You will be notified if there is a problem with any item submitted.

The only exceptions to the reporting requirements are ongoing payroll items, utilities, financial aid, and debt service.
